1. Work a large muscle group to boost your metabolism. If you work a large muscle group, it will create more lean muscle. More lean muscle will increase your metabolism and that burns fat off of your entire body. Think thighs.
2. Keep tabs on your heart rate. If your heart rate isn’t increasing, you are not working hard enough. Make sure you are working at a rate that is difficult for you. Remember, “No pain, no gain.”
3. Once a week, use the heaviest weight you can handle during your work out. Weigh training is the best means to creating definition.
4. Intervals are highly recommended for faster weight loss. If you introduce two minute high speed intervals to your current cardio exercise, you will shock your body into working harder.
5. Circuit training has become popular in gyms for a reason. You can use the cardio machines or the weight machines to do this. Just make sure you are not taking long breaks between sets. And if you are doing the cardio machines, you should be constantly working between several machines.
