A Single Cure For Cancer?

Could there be a single cure for cancer?

Most people assume that cancer is a single thing that would have a single cure. But really it is a type of thing that has many different causes. Because cancer takes many forms and even each instance of cancer has many factors that contribute to its being a cancer, it is unlikely for there to ever be a single cure. Rather, what’s more likely is that we will slowly make progress on common forms of cancer, each with their own unique solutions.

So if we are to find a cure for cancer it will really be the result of lots of cures for lots of different cancers.

Do cell phones really cause brain cancer?

For years there has been speculation over whether cell phones could cause cancer. There have been many debates over the answer with no clear cut answer emerging. Some discredit those warning of the possible link between cancer and cell phone use as proponents of the “sky is falling” school of thought. But the argument has continued anyway.

As the popularity of cell phone use has grown, so has the concern. When cell phones first emerged, they were a luxury item that most people couldn’t afford. Now it is shocking to discover anyone that doesn’t have a cell phone. But this trend has occurred only in very recent years. It generally takes many years, sometimes even decades, for all of the associated problems to come to light.

2. Roller Coaster fans beware: People who ride on roller coasters have a higher chance of having a blood clot form in the brain.

3. Women that drink alcohol excessively increase their risk of breast cancer.

4. People that suffer from gum disease are twice as likely to have a stroke or heart attack.

5. Surgery patients that are overweight are at higher risk of having a surgical tool left inside the body. There are approximately 1,500 incidents of this occurrence in the USA each year with the majority of the incidents at the expense of overweight patients.

6. Cell phones increase the likelihood by 2.5 times of developing cancer in areas of the brain that are closest to the ear used to talk on the mobile phone

7. Being struck by lightning increases your chance of developing motor neuron disease.

What is your risk of skin cancer?

Do you know how many of the risk factors attributed to increasing your chances of skin cancer apply to you? There are many factors the experts have found that can increase your odds. If one of your family members has ever been diagnosed with it, your odds are increased by 50%. Some doctors say the odds are even higher. So if any member of your family has ever suffered with any form of skin cancer, you may want to get any suspicious spots on your body checked.
