What are the benefits of water?
Have you ever stopped to think about how many liquid calories you consume daily? If you’re like most people, it doesn’t really cross your mind. But if you are serious about losing weight, you need to start paying closer attention. One serving of soda contains 150 calories. Sport drinks calorie content is comparable. Just cutting down on the calories you guzzle can result in weight loss. Try keeping track of the number of sodas and juices you drink everyday. You might be surprised at how many extra calories you add to your daily intake just with what you drink.
Instead of turning to sodas, drink water instead. I’m sure you’ve heard and read numerous praises of the benefits of water. In this case, the praise is well deserved. Water makes up 80% of your blood and your brain and 50% of your body tissues. It is essential to kidney and liver function and moves nutrients and oxygen through your body. It keeps your body nourished and your skin healthy. And best of all, at least in my opinion, it is calorie free! You can drink as much as you like without worrying about adding pounds.
Another added benefit to drinking water is its capacity to fill you up. The next time you are craving a snack, drink an ice cold glass of water first. You may find that you aren’t hungry after you finish it. Or if you still can’t resist the urge to feed your face, you will eat less because your stomach is already full. So not only will you reduce your calorie intake by choosing water instead of an alternative drink, you will eat less too. Wouldn’t you consider that to be a win/win situation?
