Getting Rid of Cellulite

Filed under: Cellulite, Exercise, Food, Skin, Weight Loss — Vicki @ 6:26 pm

Cellulite is caused by clumps of fat cells that push up against the surrounding fibrous connective tissue, resulting in dimpling of the skin usually around your butt and thighs. In lay terminology, it is fat that pushes through cell walls into the middle layer of skin and shows through to the surface. Cellulite is not caused by excess weight. That is a myth. Researchers have found that due to genetics, even skinny people are cursed with cellulite. The big question is, how do we get rid of it?

Unfortunately, there really isn’t a ‘cure’ for cellulite. However, there are actions you can take to minimize the effects of cellulite. Since cellulite is caused by fat, exercise and weight loss can have an effect on the appearance of cellulite. The results depend on how consistently and how hard you exercise. Exercise will not eliminate cellulite, but it will reduce it by reducing the size of the fat cells.

Hydration also helps to reduce cellulite. You need to strengthen and hydrate your body’s cells and connective tissue. By hydrating, with water, you will minimize the appearance of cellulite and smooth out the dimples caused by cellulite. Drinking plenty of water will also help you avoid the unnecessary calories from soft drinks.

There is no magic cure for cellulite. It is a genetic trait that you cannot change. . You can try using self-tanning creams. Individuals that use these creams have found that their cellulite is less noticeable. Cellulite products that contain caffeine can also help temporarily diminish the dimpled effects. But you should be able to successfully minimize the appearance of cellulite through diet and exercise
