What signs indicate you are having a stroke?

When it comes to a stroke, every second counts. You have no time to waste. The longer the brain is without oxygen, the more severe and extensive the damage. A person suffering from a stroke needs help right away. It is vital that you know how to recognize the signs of a stroke so you or your loved one can get help immediately.

A stroke obstructs blood flow and oxygen to the brain. The warning signs of a stroke are generally identifiable by the neurological symptoms. The person may have trouble speaking to you. They may appear confused or have trouble understanding. Difficulty seeing out of one or both eyes is an indication of a stroke. A sudden lack of coordination or loss of balance can be a sign of a stroke. The person might have trouble walking. A severe headache that comes on suddenly without apparent cause could be a sign of a stroke.

If you suspect that you or someone in your presence may be having a stroke, call for help immediately. Any one of the signs above could be an indication of a stroke. The person may not display all of the signs. Do not wait for them to experience more signs before seeking help. The more time that passes before help arrives for someone having a stroke, the more dangerous the situation becomes. A person suffering from a stroke will die without medical help. Call for help immediately.
