What you can do to look great by bathing suit season!

It’s almost that time of year again, bathing suit season.  That’s right, I said it.  There is good news, though.  You still have eight weeks until you will officially have to begin finding excuses to avoid wearing one.  But this year could be different.  You still have time to prepare.  You could work your way to a respectable bathing suit body.

Depending on where your fitness level is currently, you may not be a size six by your first bathing suit appearance.  But you don’t have to be a size six to look stunning in a bathing suit.  You just need a healthy, toned body and a confident attitude.  How do you accomplish this?  There are two main exercise programs that you should focus on for the next eight weeks, yoga and weight lifting.

Yoga is an excellent toning and strengthening exercise program.  Yoga will increase flexibility, develop and lengthen muscles, and increase your confidence levels.  Yoga is also a great way to prepare your body for a vigorous cardio or weight lifting workout.  You can find a beginners DVD at most fitness or Wal-mart stores.  Some cable companies have yoga available to be ordered.  Yoga can be practiced from a book.  Or you can find yoga positions on the internet.  The key to yoga is to concentrate on your form, breathing, and positioning.

Weight lifting will be a catalyst for change in your body.  Not only will weight lifting sculpt your body with eye-catching muscles, but it will boost your metabolism and trigger weight loss.  Weight lifting stimulates weight loss more rapidly than cardio alone.  The weight lifting exercises transform your body into a sculpted and smooth physique.  The results will be evident quicker than if you were concentrating on cardio.  Cardio is an integral part of weight loss.  But with a short deadline looming, concentrating on weight training will get you to the finish line faster.

For the best results, you should alternate between yoga and weightlifting every other day.  Do not miss a day, even if you have to split a work out into to short work outs.  If you really want to see a change by the time you put on your bathing suit for the first time this season, commit yourself to at least a half hour to an hour every day.  Remember the more time you spend exercising, the better your results will be.

Yoga and weight lifting are not the only or the best methods of exercise for weight loss and body sculpting.  But if you concentrate your efforts on the two exercise programs you will see dramatic changes to your body shape.  Both yoga and weightlifting are body shaping exercise programs.  You will feel stronger and look sleeker and more toned.
