Will Fitflops really tone your legs and butt as promised?

Fit Flops

If you have ever ordered anything online from Bath and Bodyworks, you’ve probably received several ads over the last few weeks advertising the Fitflops. The Fitflops are flip flops made with special technology that is supposed to help you work your thighs, butt, and calves while you walk. The ads promise a workout that will supposedly take off inches just by walking. The concept is extremely appealing.

As is often true of most advertising promises, the benefits touted by Fitflops advertisers aren’t as significant as promised. Walking in Fitflops will not result in slimmer thighs. That is unless, of course, you are increasing your usual speed, length of time, or distance travelled. But just walking in Fitflops will not tone those muscles.

That is not to say there aren’t some benefits to Fitflops. There is evidence that Fitflops can help improve your posture and balance. You could also strengthen your feet. But if you are purchasing Fitflops, it is probably safe to assume it is not to strengthen your foot muscles. You are probably purchasing Fitflops to get the sexy thighs, calves, and glutes the advertisers are targeting with their ads.
